Clean-Up

There is one Clean-up shift on Saturday:  This shift will be a little different this sale as we will be incorporating the Dollar Dash, which will be shopped by the Clean Up volunteers between 2:30-3:00 and by the public between 3:00-3:45.  Pre-sale time is Saturday at 6:15 am.

1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Without volunteers, our sale would not be successful! As with any other shift, your husband is welcome to serve your shift for you - and you can shop the pre-sale! Because of the work involved during this shift, we do not recommend this shift for anyone who is pregnant.

Clean-up is the process of returning the sale area back to its original state, and it is an important and much appreciated job. Volunteers begin by sorting out donated items. A few volunteers will be assigned to bagging and moving these donations. The remainder of the items will be consolidated by consignor number for pickup. Clothes, toys, baby items, and equipment are consolidated separately, and consignors should be prepared to check all areas for their belongings. At the end of pick-up, all remaining items will be considered donations.

Meanwhile, as racks are emptied, they must be taken apart and moved back into the truck to be taken to the storage unit.

In addition, all of the signs on the walls need to be collected and saved for next year. The rooms that we used should be clear, and all our supplies put away for next time. This process can go very quickly if everyone works together and stays busy!

Helping with Clean-up is an important way to contribute to the success of the sale. If you have any questions about your shift or the sale in general, please contact the Clean-up Shift Leader. Her e-mail and phone number are listed on your confirmation letter. We are looking forward to working with you at the sale!

Rack Move

There are two Rack Move Shifts:  Pre-sale time is Saturday at 6:15 am.

Friday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
and
Saturday 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Rack move is the process of getting the racks from the storage unit in Ashburn (drive up) to the location of the sale on the day prior to the sale and from the location of the sale to the storage unit on the day of the sale. These shift are two separate shifts. The Friday shift will also be responsible for helping the Set Up shift with grouping the racks in "kits" and bringing them into the area where they will be assembled. The Saturday Rack Move shift is responsible for taking apart the racks, moving them to the truck and delivering and unloading them at the Storage Unit.  This is a great shift for husbands!
