Set-Up

There is one Set-up shift the Friday before the sale.  Your pre-sale time is 6:30 am on Saturday.

3:15 pm - 6:15 pm

A smooth and easy set-up always gets the sale off to a great start! Set-up has three major components - getting the racks from storage, setting up the the racks and putting up signs. There is great deal of lifting and moving in this shift, so please be sure that you are ready for the task.  We can always use help from husbands during this shift (with, or even instead of you!) We do not recommend this shift for pregnant volunteers.

Set-up has three major components – moving all the racks and equipment, putting racks together and arranging the racks on the sales floor.  A Rack Move team will be arriving at the school at about 3:00 pm with the truck full of racks.  First, volunteers move all of the racks and equipment to the designated area. When everything has been moved, racks can be put together in the gymnasium.

The Shift Leader will have a set-up map that designates the correct position for all racks and tables. While the racks are being put together a number of individuals will be preparing and placing signs. Many of the signs will be hung on the racks to designate the type of clothing. Others will be hung on the walls to help customers locate shopping areas, and understand sales policies and other information.

This is a great shift to send your husband in your place since there is a lot of lifting and moving. Please wear work clothes that can get dirty, as the storage place where the racks are kept is in the warehouse and is dusty. Some individuals find work gloves to be a good idea!

Helping with Set-up is an important way to contribute to the success of the sale. If you have any questions about your shift or the sale in general, please contact the Set-up Shift Leader. Her email and phone number are listed on your confirmation email. We are looking forward to working with you at the sale!
