Shift Benefits
Publicity - Need flexible hours? Love to tell everyone you know all about our fabulous MOPS Sale? Then this is the shift for you.
Hospitality - All you need to do is purchase approximately $30 worth of assigned food items and bring to the sale on Friday during consignor drop off!
Donations - This shift also allows flexible hours. Gather at least $50 worth of donations from the area, tag and bring to the sale during consignor drop-off. We prefer you focus on items that will sell for $5 or more, especially large items.
Set-up- Have sports events or weekend activities? Work set-up on Friday afternoon and have your whole weekend free. Your husband can come and work your shift instead. This shift shops the pre-sale at 6:30 Saturday morning.
Drop-Off - Need Saturday daytime free? Would you like the convenience of dropping off your items and completing your volunteer shift in one evening? Note: If you are consigning, your items must be dropped-off BEFORE your shift time. Please allow extra time or have a friend or family member drop off your items for you.
Cashiers - Friendly, focused, able to work quickly - we get busy!! Past volunteers are welcome to sign-up as cashiers. If you want to volunteer with a friend - it's fun to serve as a cashier/tagger team! (Taggers need not be past volunteers.)
Clean-up (Saturday 1:00 - 4:30 PM) – Would you like to shop the Volunteer Pre-Sale before any one else does AND get to shop the Dollar Dash first? Volunteers for this shift may enter the pre-sale at 6:15 AM on Saturday morning. You will also be able to shop the Dollar Dash at 2:30, 30 minutes before it opens to the public! If you are pregnant, we do not recommend that you sign up for this shift. However, your husband can work your shift for you and you can shop early!
8 am - 11 am Shifts - Need your afternoon free? Shop the pre-sale and then work your shift right away. Take a lunch break and come back to shop the Half-Price Sale at 11:30 am - 1:00 pm or the Dollar Dash at 3:00!
11 am - 2:30 pm Shifts - Need more than one hour to shop the pre-sale? Need to retrieve your items right after your shift? Although this shift works 30 minutes longer, you will get to shop the half price sale before doors open again to the public. **Please be sure to arrive for this shift by 10:55, check in and then go find your shift leader before you shop! If you are also consigning, please let your shift leader know so that she can arrange for you to get your items between 2:00-2:30.
Rack Move - Would you like to shop the Volunteer Pre-Sale before any one else does? Volunteers for this shift may enter the pre-sale at 6:15 AM on Saturday morning. We have two shifts to choose from...Friday 2 - 5 PM and Saturday 3:30 - 6:30 PM. You will be moving racks and bookshelves so bring your work gloves and your muscles! Remember, your husband can work this shift for you and you can shop early!
Tag Sorting - We have two shifts to choose from...9:00am - 12:30pm and 12:30pm - 3:30pm. It's a stationary shift that's fun and has gained popularity over the years - especially if you serve with a friend!
Tag Tally - Usually done on the Monday and Wednesday evenings following the sale, a great option if you need to sit, or if you will be unavailable during the sale weekend!
If you are pregnant, or for other reasons would like to be fairly stationary during your shift - consider these positions on the day of the sale: Floor - Small Item Hold Bay , Cashier/Tagger or Tag Sorter. If you have a newborn, you might also consider the position of Tag Sorter. If you are pregnant, we do not recommend that you sign up for Set-Up or Clean-Up. Please clearly inform the Registration Team Leader when you sign up for your shift if you have this need. Remember, as with all shifts, it might not be possible to switch your position less than two weeks before the sale.
